We have seen an unprecedented number of tragedies strike back to back, many of which hitting close to home for us. Our friends and clients in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico saw devastation just over a month ago. Earthquakes in Mexico destroyed thousands of homes in a matter of seconds. In our own state, our neighbors in Las Vegas were victim to a senseless massacre just over a week ago. And now, fires in Northern California rage on, leaving thousands with nothing but the clothes on their backs. In an effort to support victims across the country, we have outlined a list of reliable charities and ways you can help. For our neighbors in Las Vegas… Steve Sisolak, Chair of the Clark County Commission, set up a Go Fund Me page to provide support for victims of this massacre. You can contribute here. For our friends in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico… The Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund was established by the Greater Houston Community Relief Foundation and the Mayor of Houston to provide relief to flood victims. You can donate here. UNICEF is providing relief for victims on the coast of Florida and in Puerto Rico and the surrounding islands in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. You can donate here. For our friends in Mexico… Crowdfunding efforts on Global Giving are raising funds to provide both immediate and long term relief as Mexico rebuilds after the series of earthquakes. You can donate here. And for our friends in Sonoma County… Devastating wildfires continue to rage on in Northern California, just a three hour drive from our office here in Reno. The Napa Valley Community Relief Fund is taking donations here. The Sonoma Humane Society is helping provide care for displaced animals and accepting donations here. They also have an Amazon Wishlist with supplies desperately need here. Also… We are “Adopting” a K-8 Elementary School in Sonoma County, where dozens of families have been displaced. We are organizing a gift card drive to be dispersed to students and their families who have lost everything–their homes, memories, belongings. If you are able to contribute, we will be collecting gift cards to accessible retailers like Target, Safeway, Amazon, Petco, and PetSmart to give to the victims. We will be sending the gift cards and handwritten letters of support and love (we would be happy to pass yours on, too!) by October 31st. Our address to [...]
We were thrilled to see Hyper Pet’s own CEO, Tim Blurton, featured in an awesome piece on Inc. following SuperZoo!! Blurton spoke with the Inc. reporter at SuperZoo about how companies in the pet industry are always on the lookout for new and innovative products. As the pet industry continues to skyrocket, so does the number of inventors who are looking to license their product ideas to companies. In the article, Blurton explained how exciting it is to work with inventors to make their ideas marketable. And, an ever-innovating pet industry is beneficial for everyone. You go, Hyper Pet!!! It was another SuperZoo for the books! We had so much fun seeing our amazing clients in Las Vegas (even meeting a few of them for the first time in person, too!), and getting the opportunity to catch up with industry friends and media. At the show, we were awarded a huge honor- 3rd place by the World Pet Association in their 2017 “WPA Good Works” contest!! The officially presentation happened at our client’s booth, Planet Dog, who was awarded the 1st place prize! To learn more about the contest, click here! After walking miles (and miles) over the three days, SuperZoo was a huge success for our clients and we couldn’t be more proud to represent such innovative, fun brands in one of our very favorite industries!
Earlier this month we hosted our first-ever K. Sutherland PR Dog Wash for charity! It was a sunny day, and SO MUCH FUN washing dogs and taking donations for the Nevada Humane Society! The event was right outside of our office, and it was great meeting new dog lovers (and, of course, dogs)!! Thanks to everyone who helped make the event a success, including a few of our pet industry clients who donated to the event and/or our doggie bags: FetchFuel, Parkers, Pets Best, Soggy Doggy, and Wondercide! You are the BEST, and we can’t wait to do it again soon!!
We are so beyond excited that one of our very favorite pet industry girl bosses, Soggy Doggy “Top Dog”, Joanna Rein, was featured in an exclusive interview on the Huff Post this weekend!! She dished all the details on what being a female CEO is all about, plus talked about the work-life balance and more! We’ve been proud members of the Soggy Doggy team for over 5 years now, and love everything about this company, product line and, of course, leadership! Cheers to many more successes together, Jo!! We love working with you and representing Soggy Doggy!! Check out Jo’s complete interview on Huff Post here!
